Buy industrial diesel generators: kW, kVA and current models
Before you buy an industrial generator, determine the real electrical loads, starting currents, required voltage and frequency, and whether the system is for standby or ongoing prime-power operation. Compare generators by the manufacturer’s rated output rather than the advertised model name alone.
Industrial generators available for comparison
The Makitor industrial generator catalogue includes:
- ZIPPER ZI-STE7500DSH diesel generator — 5 kW, 230/400 V.
- CIMEX SDG60 diesel generator — 50 kW / 63 kVA.
- CIMEX SDG140 diesel generator — 100 kW / 125 kVA.
- CIMEX SDG220 diesel generator — 200 kW / 250 kVA.
They serve different requirements. Check each listing for the actual specification, current price, availability, delivery and accessories.
1. kW versus kVA: what matters to the buyer?
Active power (kW) and apparent power (kVA) are related through the rated power factor. Verify whether the rating is for prime power, standby duty or another defined operating regime; do not assume a headline figure can be sustained continuously.
2. Size the generator to your electrical loads
List equipment, running and starting demands, voltage, frequency and expected simultaneous operation. Motors, pumps, refrigeration and compressors may require additional starting capacity. Have a qualified electrician or engineer validate the system, grounding, protections and any transfer switch.
3. Fuel, noise and installation
Check engine fuel type, consumption at stated load, noise enclosure if included, emissions requirements, ventilation, exhaust routing, fuel storage and access for maintenance. Transport and unloading costs can be substantial for large equipment.
4. New or used generator?
With used power equipment, request operating hours, maintenance records, current photographs, engine and alternator identification and test information. With new equipment, confirm accessories, warranty, delivery and service coverage for the exact model.
5. Compare the total delivered price
Include generator, control panel, taxes applicable in the destination country, delivery, lifting, any switching equipment, installation, commissioning and maintenance. Comparing two machines with different kW ratings or duty classes solely by price is misleading.
Buyer questions
Which generator do I need for my company?
Choose only after assessing maximum concurrent load and starting requirements. An electrical professional should confirm final sizing and safety.
Are transport and installation included?
Not automatically. Check the particular offer and request the final delivered price and installation scope before buying.
