Machinery financing and leasing: a buyer’s cost comparison guide
Purchasing industrial equipment through a loan, lease or rental arrangement can spread payments, but every proposal needs to be assessed by its total cost and contract conditions. Makitor is not a lender and does not approve credit or guarantee that any product qualifies for financing.
Machinery loan, leasing or renting: what is the difference?
- Equipment loan: check the amount borrowed, interest rate, APR or equivalent, fees, repayment term, security and total amount payable.
- Lease: clarify instalments, asset ownership, end-of-term options, any purchase option or residual payment, insurance and maintenance responsibilities.
- Renting: verify duration, included services, usage or hour limits, servicing, penalties, return requirements and total payments.
Tax and accounting treatment varies by jurisdiction and business situation; obtain advice from a qualified local professional.
How to prepare a machinery financing request
Start with an exact equipment quotation: model, configuration, accessories, published price, applicable taxes, installation and transport. State whether the machinery is new or used, the desired deposit, term and expected utilisation.
New machinery examples for a precise purchase price
These different machines have individual published listings on Makitor. These are not financing offers or approved loans:
- Master 750.3L lathe, mill and drill — metalworking.
- HELI CPD15-20SQ electric forklift — material handling.
Verify the actual supply configuration and delivered cost first; discuss eligible financing with an appropriate provider separately.
Compare the total financing cost
Ask for a written schedule showing the deposit, all instalments, rates, arrangement fees, insurance, service obligations, residual or purchase-option payments and early-termination terms. A low monthly payment does not necessarily mean a lower total cost.
Request a machine-specific buying quote
Send the machine type, capacity, model, intended job, budget and destination postcode so an equipment quote can be prepared. Any financial terms must be provided separately by a lender or leasing company.

Choose the actual machine before evaluating financing
When comparing the cost of cash purchase, leasing or finance, identify the exact machine, price, useful life and expected utilisation first. Compare the total payable amount, deposit, repayment schedule, taxes, insurance, maintenance responsibility and any end-of-term purchase options. Financing is not guaranteed and depends on any independent provider’s approval. Request an itemised machinery purchase quotation first; transport is quoted separately.
Confirm current specifications, availability and the final written quotation before any payment.
